Patrick Markey

With over 25 years of experience, Patrick J. Markey is an accomplished trial lawyer and legal advisor.  He focuses his practice on commercial litigation, insurance defense litigation, and in the area of insurance coverage.  He has extensive experience trying cases in both State and Federal Courts.  He works closely with clients, guiding them through the litigation process and resolving their disputes through negotiated settlements, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
 

From 2008-2010, he served on the Springfield City Council, and from 2004-2006, while maintaining a private practice, he was chief legal counsel to the City of Springfield.  He served as a trial attorney for the United States Department of Justice from 1993 to 1996 and as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in the District of Columbia in 1996.  After graduating with honors from Georgetown in 1992, Mr. Markey served as a law clerk to the Honorable Edward F. Harrington, United States District Judge for the District of Massachusetts.  Prior to law school, he served for two years with the Peace Corps in Paraguay.
